Welcome to the June 2024 Issue of CAPA Monthly News. This newsletter is for members and friends of CAPA, keeping you up to date on all things CAPA for photographers all across Canada. There will be no newsletter in July or August while the editor takes a summer break.

Canadian Photography Conference - Kelowna: June 25-27, 2024

The Conference is all set to start in a couple of weeks. Although the full conference registration is now closed, you can still attend at the day rate of $145 per day.Purchase your day tickets here.Click on Get Tickets and select Single Day Admission. The deadline for Day Sales tickets is June 29.

Everyone receives a Certificate ofParticipation, so please let herknow if you will be in attendanceso that we can make appropriate arrangements at the ceremony for you.

JUDGING COURSES


CAPA provides nation-wide courses teaching the fundamentals of judging, so that those who enter our competitions can be assured of consistent and well informed evaluation and commentary of their work.

  • During theRichmond Photo Club's Photography Show at Lansdowne Mall in Richmond BC last month, the club reached out to the public to vote and comment on their favorite images. All votes were anonymous.There were over 400 ballets cast and overwhelmingly the popular vote went to Jason Li!Go here for more details and to see some of Jason's images.
  • TheVictoria Camera Clubis continuing it's year of80th Anniversary Celebrations. The Club is gearing up for a Print Show, this fall. Scheduled for September 2024, the show will include two juried categories: a stand-alone print category featuring individual prints and a triptych category featuring series of three related prints. The Show will be held in downtown Victoria.
