Welcome to the March 2023 Issue of CAPA Monthly News. This newsletter for members and friends of CAPA will bring you up to date information on all things CAPA for photographers all across Canada.

Call for Expressions of Interest:A number ofCAPA Board positionsare up for election at the 2023 AGM, which will be held on June 10, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta. This year we will be electing the four Officer positions on the board: President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. Although some of the positions have members already standing for re-election, we encourage all members who are interested toconsider serving on the CAPA Board. For more details, pleasecontact the Nominating Committee Chair. The deadline for nominations is April 27, 2023.

CAPA SPEAKERS SERIES - March 29
 The next speaker in this free monthly online seriesis Jana Zachariouat 4:00 pm Pacific Time. AllCAPA individual membersare invited to attend this presentation on Flower Photography.
Jana Zachariouis a Czech-born photographer living in the southern part of British Columbia. After having lived in various locations around the world, she chose to call Canada her home. Eventually settling on the West Coast was the true beginning of Jana’s endless love affair with a camera.

Canadian Photography Conference 2024
CAPA is thrilled to announce that after an unanticipated break, our biennial conference is solidly back on track, with a new name, and with new focus. The 2024 Canadian Photography Conference will be held June 25 - 27, 2024 in the city of Kelowna, the jewel of British Columbia’s beautiful Okanagan Valley.

- Submissions are open for thePrairie Zone Competition, deadline March 30. This competition is open to all CAPA individual membersand all CAPA Clubsin the Prairie Zone: Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and NorthwestTerritories.
- CAPA Prairie Zone, together with Strobe Pro, offers aone day, hands-on portrait photography workshopMarch 25 at Rad Studios in Calgary. Instructor, Tracy Elliott, will take the participants through the principals of shooting with natural light, off camera flash and strobe lighting. This course will be from 9-3 and lunch is provided.To register, click here.
- Join theCalgary Camera Cluband guest facilitator Lindsay Sullivan fora three hour workshop on Cosplay Photography. The workshop will take place April 1 in Calgary at the Hotel Blackfoot. Admission for Non-Club Members is $20. Time is 1 pm MST.To register, click here.
